At the end of last year, I attended the Nomad Island Fest 2022 in Madeira, Portugal, and wanted to share my experience with you all! As a virtual assistant, I have the freedom to work from anywhere. Therefore, attending this business festival was the perfect opportunity to combine work and travel.

The festival was basically a conference and more that took place over seven days in a lovely hotel and centre in Ponta Do Sol. It was packed with activities, workshops, and talks on topics such as remote work, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. I particularly enjoyed the panel discussions of inspiring entrepreneurs and digital nomads sharing their experiences and insights.

In addition to the educational and networking aspects, the festival also offered many opportunities to unwind and socialise. There were parties, fitness sessions, and even a Jeep tour to explore the beautiful island of Madeira.

The Nomad Escape is the company that runs Nomad Island Fest, which happening again in Madeira this year. They also run other events for digital nomads, remote workers and business owners, such as business retreats and coliving programmes. They do a lot of events in Madeira since the CEO Michelle Maree is based there, but they also go to other locations in the world such as Bali, Indonesia and Tulum, Mexico.

Overall, I had a fantastic time at the Nomad Island Fest 2022 and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in remote work, entrepreneurship and travel. It was great to meet like-minded individuals from all over the world and learn from some of the best in the industry. At the time, I wrote a much beefier review of Nomad Island Fest over at my VA website, so check it out!
