Whilst in Asia earlier this year, I learned about Taiwan Digital Fest — a month-long festival run by Taiwan Digital Nomad Association, about all things digital nomadism, entrepreneurship and remote work. It was my first time going to Taiwan, and what a great excuse for it! I couldn’t commit to the whole month on this occasion, so I decided to just go to the final two weeks.
Jam-packed with all sorts of events happening every day in different venues around the southern Taiwanese city of Taitung and its surrounding same-name county, it was definitely a “choose-your-own-adventure”. There were stage talks, workshops, coworking days, group meals, and touristy activities.
The people who worked there and the ones who attended were all a friendly bunch from Taiwan and all over the world. I made a lot of great contacts and a lot of memories. Plus, it was my first ever time in Taiwan, and what a great reason to come. There were some great cultural activities that helped us learn about this island nation, and particularly Taitung County.
And to finish off the month, I was lucky enough to get selected to join an exclusive tour of Hualien, a city and county just north of Taitung. Here, a group of us explored Hualien for three days, doing activities such as making gua buns and mochi, networking dinner at Hualien Cloud Hub, hunting trial at Gaoshan Forest, river tracing at Baibao Creek, and more.
Thank you to the brilliant team at Taiwan Digital Fest for organising such an awesome event and putting Taiwan on the map for digital nomads! 🙌🏾
